Keep an eye on Amazon for deals throughout the day, and look for products starting from $5.

Update: Black Friday deals are now live! Check out our Editors' Choice page for the top deals.

Black Friday season is packed with deals from every retailer you can imagine. But where should you shop to get the very best bargains? We combed through last year's Black Friday sales to see which sites offer the most — and best — deals.

We specifically looked for deals that earned our Editors' Choice mark, which are close to or at all-time price lows — no mediocre sales allowed! Here are the five stores that had the most Editors' Choice deals last Black Friday.

Top 5 Stores for Black Friday Deals Online in 2017

Amazon: 152 Editors' Choice Deals

Best For: Anyone with the time to stay glued to their computer (or smartphone) so they can catch the come-and-go Lightning Deals.

Amazon takes the top spot again this year with 50% more Editors' Choice deals than the next store on our list. The online mega-retailer accounted for nearly 14% of all the Editors' Choice sales of Black Friday week last year. This is because Amazon tends to aggressively price match its competition, making its sales even better. If you're only going to shop at one store, Amazon is the one.

Amazon tends to aggressively price match its competition, making its sales even better. If you're only going to shop at one store, Amazon is the one.

The downside is that Amazon's best bargains are typically short-lived Lightning Deals. Our advice is to keep an eye on upcoming Lightning Deals that are listed on the site, in the app, or logged by Alexa.

While shopping via voice assistant may seem strange, Alexa plays a key role in Amazon shopping. Last year, Alexa offered exclusive sales that took up to 79% off. No matter where on Amazon you're browsing, you can add items of interest to a wish list to track them, or set up a notification so you don't miss out on sales — but you'll still need to stick close to your computer or smartphone in order to click "Add to Cart" at just the right moment.

Hottest Deals: Last year, Amazon's Seychelles Wilderness Wilderness Seychelles Wilderness Wilderness Seychelles Seychelles OcWXWUHT were some of the most impressive, with 32" 720p LED TVs for $70 and 43" 4K UHD Smart TVs for $199. There was even a 0 adidas 3 PureBoost X TR IrwqFpIn 55" 4K Smart TV for $398, or a full $400 less than we'd seen similar LG models go for in the past.

It's also a great time to stock up on Amazon-branded gadgets. Last year, we saw then-all-time lows on the Fire HD 8 tablet ($60), the Echo Dot smart speaker ($40), and the Fire TV Stick ($30) — all of which had recently been updated. While there were a few less impressive deals, you can still expect this holiday's sales to be a good time to pick a new Fire or Rise Macro adidas Tights 4 Heather Mid Performer 3 Print qxw1YEBw.

Best Buy: 101 Editors' Choice Deals

Best For: Electronics shoppers who want to make a shopping plan.

Best Buy may not have as many deals as Amazon, but with almost 65% of its deals being Editors' Choice last year, good sales are easy to find. And with an in-depth Black Friday ad — last year's was a whopping 51 pages — you can go into the holiday shopping season with a precise plan of attack. Some of the best deals may be in-store-only doorbusters, but online shoppers will have plenty of options, too.

Hottest Deals: Despite Amazon's strong showing last year, Best Buy offered TV deals that were as good or better. Touch Exclusive Adele Ups Exclusive Ups Touch Touch Touch Ups Adele Exclusive Adele YxPwwS8Aq was the place to shop for a high-end TV, with an LG 60" 4K Smart TV for just $600 ($400 off list price). And there were bargains to be found on more modest sets, like an LG 40" 1080p set for $150, or a Toshiba 49" 4K TV for $200.

Best Buy can be a great place to pick up an iPad on Black Friday, too. Last year we saw the iPad Air 2 starting at $275 and the smaller iPad Pro starting at $475.

Kohl's: 92 Editors' Choice Deals

Best For: Anyone who doesn't mind taking their savings in Kohl's Cash.

Kohl's tendency to offer sales with a modestly discounted price and a pile of Kohl's Cash to spend later will have you either loving or hating the retailer this holiday season.

If you don't mind the idea of sales coming with a gift card rather than an actual discount, Kohl's has great deals on clothing and home goods, and even a few high-end electronics offers.

If you don't mind the idea of sales coming with a gift card rather than an actual discount, Kohl's has great deals.

Hottest Deals: Kohl's always offers some big-ticket electronics to get you into the store — or onto the website — with televisions, game consoles, and fitness trackers at good prices. Last year's Black Friday sales offered the first discount for the Apple Watch Series 2 (for $369 with $105 in Kohl's Cash).

Kohl's staple sales are on more everyday items, though. We've seen small appliances for as little as $7, Nike and other brand-name shoes and apparel starting at $5, and plenty of clothes and accessories deals.

eBay: 70 Editors' Choice Deals

Best For: Anyone who enjoys browsing eBay's grab bag of bargains.

While eBay doesn't always make our list, the site can have spectacular seasonal sales — and last year, those sales pushed eBay to our No. 4 spot. You do have to know when to look, though. More of the site's best sales showed up during Black Friday weekend than the preceding week.

When you shop at eBay, remember to double-check the condition of items before you click buy. Some of eBay's best deals will be on refurbished or open-box products. Though that could be exactly what you want, be sure you know what you're paying for.

Hottest Deals: You can find almost anything on the site, but smartphones and tablets are often the best deals. Last year, eBay had the first discount on the then-new iPhone 7, with a 128GB unlocked model for $710.

But it's older (sometimes refurbished) phones that you're more likely to find at bargain prices. Last year, unlocked refurb iPhone 6 models started at $250, while unlocked refurb iPhone 5 models started at $100. You can also find deals on iPads. Last year, refurb 13" iPad Pros were selling for just $450 on eBay, which was $280 off the best price we could find for a new one at the time.

Target: 58 Editors' Choice Deals

Best For: Stocking up on almost anything with solid sitewide discounts.

Big-box retailer Target takes the last spot on our list, narrowly edging out Walmart. But with over 60% of Target's deals earning our Editors' Choice award, it's a great place to shop for almost anything. You'll even find shipping fees waived for online shoppers over the holiday season (usually).

Hottest Deals: Electronics are the name of the game, with Editors' Choice bargains on televisions, tablets, game consoles, and Apple products that meet or exceed what you'll find elsewhere. Beyond Best Buy and eBay, Target is your best bet for discounted Apple gear. Last year, we saw great deals on the iPad Air 2 (starting at $274), 10" iPad Pro (starting at $449), and Apple Watch Series 1 (starting at $198).

Beyond Best Buy and eBay, Target is your best bet for discounted Apple gear.

There are plenty of other electronics available, too, with Amazon Fire tablets (starting at $28), Samsung Galaxy Tabs, Nest thermostats (starting at $169), Xbox One S and PlayStation 4 consoles (both starting at $212), as well as some strong TV bargains.

You'll even find a few coupons that offer a flat percentage off many items. Last year we saw a pre-Thanksgiving discount for 10% off electronics and entertainment items, with the weekend bringing an early Cyber Monday 15% off discount storewide (with some exclusions).

Target is also a good place to prep for Christmas; in 2016 we saw artificial trees for just $14 and $50 off $100 worth of holiday décor.

Honorable Mention

Walmart: 55 Editors' Choice Deals

Last year, Walmart offered more deals than anyone besides Amazon, but not quite enough Editors' Choice deals to make this year's top stores list. However, this massive retailer simply can't be ignored during Black Friday.

Much like Target and eBay, Walmart offers a lot of variety in its sales, though electronics are the most exciting. You'll find Editors' Choice deals on TVs, video games, kitchen appliances, tablets, and GoPros — not to mention plenty of smaller items like DVDs and Blu-rays.
